When I lived in Munich, Germany I was in fashion heaven. Seriously, it just about ruined my ability to go shopping in the US for anything. I dream of taking a spring trip to Germany every year to freshen up my look. Granted I'm usually a year ahead of the states anyways with my european look, but I'm a 6'3" 180lb guy with wide shoulders in pretty good shape. Swimmers body. Try walking into most any store in the US and try to get a shirt that fits (thats not European made) To get arm length that is decent, I feel like I could jump out of a plane and use the body of the shirt as a parachute. I'd probably live based on the volume of air allowed in if I untucked the thing! Just look at any mannequin. I have that build. Now look at the back of it and notice all the folding and pinning done to make that shirt fit the poor guy! Even 'slim fit' shirts have this problem for me.
If anyone gets over to Germany, you MUST try a store as they don't ship...
Wormland (Hows your German? The website is all Deutsch after the first page)

| This pic is from their Spring 2013 campaign. Beautiful Germans! |
This store is a mens fashion wet dream. A mixture of their own label and top brands from across the globe. The Munich location is 4 floors. (Marienplatz 28) The basement is younger and casual. The main floor is mostly WormLand label and the clothing depends on the season. Floor 2 is Suits. A whole floor and AMAZING suits. Tiger of Sweden is my favorite label. If you have my build, you will love the tall sizes available. I took a 98 off the shelf and it fit me like a glove. Without fail, everytime I wear this, I get at least 5 comments from people on what a great suit. The most common question from guys, 'How much tailoring did you have to do' I LOVE telling them '0, nada, zilch'

A sample from their current collection online. Does anyone know where in the US you can find Tiger? I have failed in my searches.

My relocation from Munich took me to the fashion mecca of AsiaPacific, Melbourne Australia. While I had a harder time finding glove-fitting sizes in Australia, I was surprised at the quality of design I found.
My favorite store, Satch, sadly went under in 2011. Higher end, upscale fashion was their niche. While they had a limited line each season, I found myself mixing and matching every chance I could get into a store. Each piece was unique with slightly different tailoring, stitching, material selection from the rest of the markets lineup. But, why dwell on what doesn't exist.
Saba was a close second and they are still going strong! Where hipster lacks refinement (sorry my Austin friends!) Saba takes the theory one step classier. Scott Schuman (the genius behind 'The Satorialist' did a shoot for them in 2009... Yes 2009.. years before the look was big here. Check my favorite pics from his shoot.
But lets face it... How often can one travel to Europe or Australia just for a shopping trip?! (Outside of the uber rich of us) So, my task and promise to you is to post my favorite stores here in the grand ol' US of A (online and retail locations) where I have found anything to rival my European or Australian experiences.
Send me your finds as well! I would love to highlight your look and style.
